The Lago-Naki Plateau

The route starts from the Kamennomostsky settlement and ascends higher and higher into the mountains along a picturesque serpentine road. As altitude is gained, the landscapes change: broad-leaved forests give way to coniferous ones, and then to alpine meadows covered with a carpet of mixed grasses. At an altitude of about two thousand meters, you find yourself on the expanses of the plateau — a huge highland where herds of horses graze and the air rings with purity. In clear weather, Mount Oshten, the Fisht Massif, and other three-thousander peaks are visible from equipped observation platforms. In summer, rhododendrons and edelweiss bloom here, and snow lies in the lowlands until the middle of the season. The excursion includes a hiking walk across the plateau, a visit to karst sinkholes and caves, as well as lunch at altitude with Adyghe cuisine dishes. This is a place that changes the perception of mountains and remains in the heart forever.
